samsung(160gb)=local drive E

local drive C is my system(windows xp)

local drive D is only for linux

local drive E is for my other files.(songs, video, picture, etc)

i already install it both(xp in C and linux in D in separate partition)

the problem is(running in xp) when i want to use linux,i must (select boot) for linux..it will shutdown my xp programs..how to fix this..i want to control its both at the same time or i just select os without shutdown my running os..what software must i have or what must i do?

Control xp and linux at once?
The only way I can see you would be able to do this is by installing a virtual machine on your PC.

I recommend VirtualBox http://www.virtualbox.org/ if you installed Linux on the virtual machine then you would be able to use both operating systems at the same time.

LUg.
Reply:You have not said what Linux version you're using...

what you have set-up is a dual boot system where you can only run one system at a time.

To run xp and Linux together you need to set up a virtual machine.. that way you can swap from Linux to Xp and visa versa without rebooting the system

now you have a choice to make here.. which side of the fence do you want to site on, Linux or Microsoft, that is the question you need to ask yourself.

Reason is you can go for the Linux virtual system or Microsoft's Virtual system, Now what you need to do is find out which as got the best support, and my guess would be Linux

Microsoft have a virtual machine system you can download or you can download the Linux virtual system the choice is yours, Linux have a tutorial on how to set it up plus there is more user groups for Linux.. check out the user groups and forums for your version of Linux. go to your version of Linux website and look for the user group and forum.. join and ask there how to set up your virtual machine
