Formatting C: Drive?

I'm formated my C: drive so I can install Linux. After I formated the C: drive, it restarted and asked me for a password. I only used two password on the computer and neither took.

How can I get pass this so I can do a clean install of Linux?

Formatting C: Drive?
Remove the cmos battery again fix it and restart the system
Reply:If you successfully formatted hard drive, there should be nothing left to ask you for password. The only possibility I see is Bios asking for password.

It is extremely hard to fully answer this question without more, and exact details. Like...

What OS was on it?

What OS did u use to format it?

What procedure did you use to format it? Booted from disk? From dos prompt?

Is this a laptop or desktop, and what model? Did you create new partitions?
Reply:typically when you re-format the drive it 0's it all out which means all the data on it is gone. Are you sure you did it right? also what version or "brand" of linux are you trying to use because if you re-formatted your hard drive the system should be completely erased. There must be a system password on your BIOS which would then require you to take the jumper on your motherboard and reset the CMOS chip. So basically try to just install linux or get into your BIOS and remove the password or you will have to delve into the system hardware wise and change it manually.
