I have an Athlon64 3500+ Desktop.Please suggest some Live Linux Distributions which I can use on it apart from Ubuntu.Also suggest some appropriate Linux distributions which will work fine on my old PentiumIII 256MB RAM PC which I use mainly to take classes and demonstrate C++ programs.

You can put the same Linux on both.

http://www.opensuse.org
GCC is included on both distros. (For your c++ compiler the command is g++ source.cpp)
