Installing linux help!!!! Grub Loading Error 2??
The installer tries it's best to figure out how to setup the Grub bootloader configuration, but if you have multiple drives it can guess wrong about the setup. There are no issues with compatibility with your hard drive controller. Tell me about your drives and partitions, and I can help you further. You may be able to fix this with the Super Grub disk. http://supergrub.forjamari.linex.org/
Reply:if you just want to get rid of grub so you can boot your computer into the other OS then put in the windows setup disk, go to the recovery console, and type Fixmbr it will rewrite the bootloader so it'll just boot into windows if thats what you use
Reply:You might try asking on one of the Ububtu support forums at http://www.ubuntu.com/support/free - there are probably more expertes there than here. Good luck.
Reply:Well the 64 bit has nothing to do with it. I run x86 on my 64 bit AMD CPU. Something is messed up with your boot loader. That is what Grub is. Sorry I dont really know how to fix it, but I would suggest for a first time linux user, if you are a first time that is, try using debian or SUSE. They are much easier than ubuntu. Another good distribution is Fedora Core. Good luck.
